Origin/History Of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU)
The Olabisi Onabanjo University is a self-governing open and non-private organization set up by the Ogun State Government in 1982, giving advanced education in the Humanities, Sciences and Technology and empowering the headway of learning in all the significant circles of human undertaking. The Planning Committee for the foundation of Olabisi Onabanjo University was introduced on ninth January, 1982 by the then Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Chief Akin Ogunpola, with Professor Akin L. Mabogunje as Chairman.
The Committee presented its report on sixteenth March, 1982 and on July that year, the outdated Ogun State House of Assembly passed the bill building up the University into law. Along these lines the University turned into a reality with the law officially building up it.
