About the app

NIMC said it is easy to navigate as it has some good features. On a condition, the person that wants to use it must get his NIN in order to access the mobile app.

We all cannot begin to comprehend how disappointing it is to have been waiting for our plastic National ID cards after going for registration and getting a promise from the officials that you will receive the card soon. All of the talks from them seem to be false, as there are no guarantees that you would get the card.

Anyway, you can now get your National ID card using your mobile phone with the availability of the NIMC mobile app. The NIMC-Mobile ID, as it is known, is a new suite of Personal Identity tokens and services, developed, administered, and managed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

As we all know that NIN is very important for every individual who owns a SIM card to have as NCC has issued a directive to block all SIM cards which have not been linked to a NIN number. If you own any of the SIM cards, you can see how to link your SIM card to your NIN number:

The MobileID Application issues NIMC on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It serves as a valid means of Identification anywhere a Nigerian (or legal resident) is required to present an ID Token.

It seems stressful to go back to the office where you did your registration since there are no guarantees of seeing your plastic ID card when you get there. However, since you’ve been with your national identity slip containing your NIN (National Identity Number) for long, now seems to be the right time to get the original card from them from the comfort of your home using your mobile app.
