About Kwara State University (KWASU)
The Kwara State University (KWASU) is an internationally-recognized Nigerian university, and is located in Malete, Kwara State. The university has remained one of the most competitive in the country in terms of admissions.
Kwara State University been official accredited and/or recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria.
Origin/History Of Kwara State University (KWASU)
The excursion towards setting up a state college in Kwara State started on 11 July 2007 when the Kwara State Governor Bukola Saraki initiated a Planning Committee under previous Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Mohammed Shaaba Lafiagi to set up the ground for the foundation of the Kwara State University. The Bill for the Kwara State University was marked into law on 24 December 2008.
The authentication and instrument to work the college was acquired on 9 February 2009 from the National Universities Commission (NUC). The pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul Rasheed Na’Allah, who until his arrangement, was Chair of the African American Studies Department of the Western Illinois University, Macomb, United States of America, expected office on Tuesday, 28 July 2009. When completely operational, the college is intended to have its scholarly exercises work from three grounds situated in Malete, Ilesha-Baruba and Osi-Opin.
The Malete grounds is the principle grounds and houses the College of Pure and Applied Sciences, College of Information and Communication Technology, and the College of Education. Osi (Ekiti neighborhood government) grounds will house the College of Engineering, College of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences. The Baruba (Baruten Local government) Campus will house the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences
